In an award presentation by Hays CISD board members, district volunteers received recognition for their more than 30,000 collective hours of service over the past year.
At the May 26 meeting, the administration and the board thanked all 5,500 registered volunteers. Trustees Sandra Bryant, Willie Tenorio and Marty Kanetsky then presented what are known as “presidential” awards for volunteers who contributed 100-249 hours (bronze), 249-500 hours (silver) and 500 or more hours (gold) this school year.

Aida Reynoso (637 hours at Hemphill Elementary).
