Twenty teams converged on the Hays High campus last week as they participated in the 2015 Rebel Bash.
For the host Hays Lady Rebel volleyball team, a 6-1 mark over two days gave Hays the silver bracket championship and a fifth place overall finish.
The Lady Rebels started day one on Sept. 3 by cruising through pool play with a 3-0 mark, dropping only one set during that span.
But Hays ran into a tough opponent in the Pflugerville Hendrickson Hawks in the winners bracket on day two.
Their loss to Hendrickson forced Hays to rally in the silver bracket. Hays defeated Cedar Creek and Pflugerville en route to a fifth place finish.
The LaGrange Lady Leopards claimed the overall tournament title by defeating Round Rock Stony Point in two sets.
