All-District Registration Aug. 15
Hays CISD hosts its first all-district registration event on Saturday, Aug.15 at Lehman High School.
While parents may still register online, this one-day event is an additional way for parents to complete registration in person. It is not necessary to sign up for this event. Parents may come anytime from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Representatives from district departments will be available to provide the following full-service support:
• Confirmation of campus assignment
• Review of vaccination records to ensure they are up-to-date
• Information about how to become a volunteer
• Application for free/reduced lunches
• On-site bilingual education services
• Special education program information
• Information about athletics for secondary students.
Each student will also have the opportunity to meet his or her principal as every campus will be represented at the fair.
Athletic physical forms due
Students wanting to participate in extra-curricular athletics are required to have their athletic forms turned in before the start of school. Forms are available from each school’s web page.
Meet the teacher night
Elementary schools throughout the district will be holding their Meet the Teacher night on Aug. 20. The start times range from 6 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., depending on schools.
First day of school is Aug. 24. The first school holiday is Labor Day, Sept. 7.
Changes in Hays CISD emails
Hays CISD has converted to a new email system, causing the email format to change. Instead of “last name” plus “first initial,” the district is now using “first name” dot “last name” @haysicd.net.
Old emails will work for a few weeks as they are being forwarded. However, parents are advised to change contact information for their school personnel.
