Ten Hays High School Art 3 drawing students had a remarkable showing in the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo Western Art show recently. Out of 333 student artwork entries, six of the students received a 2nd place rating and three received 3rd place ratings. Headlining the Rebs’ showing was Liliana Palacios-Herrera who earned a 1st place rating, putting her in the big show’s top 15 entries. That qualifies her artwork to be placed in a live auction, set for the San Antonio’s Briscoe Art Museum on January 28. Liliana is expected to earn a minimum of $12,000 in the form of a college scholarship at this event. (Photo by Starr Cruz)
