July sales tax collections were up nearly 30 percent in Kyle and more than 61 percent in Buda over July 2014.
Kyle took in $642,442.47 for an increase of 29.33 percent while its neighbor to the north, Buda, took in $466,663.94 for a 61.5 percent increase over July of last year.
On a year to date basis, sales tax collections in Buda were up 11.17 percent for a total of $3.5 million. Kyle sales tax collections increased 21.9 percent for a total of $3.7 million during the same time period.
On the west side of the county, Dripping Springs sales tax collections increased 34.6 percent from July 2014 to July 2015. Wimberley sales tax increased 14 percent in a year-over-year comparison.
Between January and July 2015, Dripping Springs took in $1.2 million in sales tax for an increase of 18.4 percent during the same time period in 2014.
Wimberley took in $534,216 from January to July of this year, which is a 14.4 percent increase over the same time period last year.
Hays County’s largest city, San Marcos, collected $2.2 million in July 2015, up 8.5 percent compared to July 2014. On a year to date basis, San Marcos took in $17.3 million – an increase of 7.9 percent from the same time period last year.
In Uhland, sales tax collections were up 21.8 percent over 2014, with $12,759 collected in July of 2015. Between January and July of 2015, the eastern Hays County town took in $79,749, which is up 20.3 percent from the same time period last year.
Niederwald had July 2015 sales tax collections of $2,400, an increase of 29.9 percent from July of 2014. Year to date, Niederwald collected $16,256. That represents an increase of about 12 percent during the same time period last year.
Hays County’s July sales tax collections were $3.67 million, up 17.7 percent over July of 2014. The county took in $26.5 million between January and July of 2015, which is an increase of 10.6 percent over the 2014 collections during the same time period.
