Congratulations rolled out across Hays High School as its Marine Corps JROTC teams took victories at the Brenham Drill Meet. The Hays Varsity Air Rifle team took 1st Place in a field of 22 teams and defeated the nearest of those teams by 97 points. The meet’s top shooter was Rebel Team Captain Andrew Small. Taking 3rd Place in the meet was Reb shooter Mark Stewart. The Rebel JV Air Rifle team also put in an impressive performance by taking 4th overall and defeating 12 varsity teams from other schools.
In Physical Training, the female Rebels took 2nd Place out of a field of 13 teams. The male PT team also scored very well and took 5th out of 18 teams,the overall team effort from all of his cadets bringing Commanding Officer Donald Wimp to affirm, “Way to go, Rebel Cadets!”
