Firestone Scramble: Central Texas linemen compete at Lehman

Reversing a trend that’s about as old as football, linemen from several Central Texas schools got a chance to take in the limelight as they participated in the 4th annual Lineman Challenge at Lehman High on July 8. Athletes from Lehman, Lanier, Lockhart, Akins and Del Valle put their skills to the test as they participated in position specific drills. Drills ranged from bench press and squat lift competitions, to timed sled push and heavy tire carry. The event culminated with the tug-of-war with a twist game of the “Firestone Scramble.” Lockhart emerged the victor with Lehman’s A team taking second. (Photos by Moses Leos III)
