Hays High juniors Madeleine Lyon and Savannah Sepulveda and senior John Bowen were among those selected for the All-State Choir following auditions at Austin’s Reagan High School. Lyon was named to the All-State Mixed Choir, Soprano I, Sepulveda was named to the All-State Women’s Choir, Alto II, and Bowen was named to the All-State Men’s Choir, Tenor I, Alternate.
Hays Choir Director Charles Flores noted the choir had doubled its previous representation at the All-State auditions this year, the threesome also joined by sophomore Faith Broddrick (Alto I) in those auditions after qualification at the Region XVIII Pre-Area level.
The All-State Choirs will perform Saturday, Feb. 15, at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio as part of the TMEA Annual Convention.
