Make a donation for the new year

 By Mark Hunter.

Here we are at the beginning of a new year once again! Many of us take this opportunity each year to make some fresh starts – work toward a healthier lifestyle, take on new challenges, or reorganize our lives in some way.

If you’re one of the latter and the time has come to clear out the old and make way for the new, don’t throw out your books. The Buda Library accepts donations of your gently used books in all formats no matter how recent or old they may be! Mysteries, westerns, science fiction, or biographies we want them! Young adult, chapter books, picture books, or early readers we’ll take them! Simply box or bag them up and bring them down to the library and we’ll take care of the rest.

Keep in mind that only a very small percentage of donations actually become a part of the library’s collection, so don’t disappointed if you don’t see your contributions on the shelves ready for checkout. Instead, The Friends of the Buda Library oversees the sale of these books to raise much needed funds to support library programs, materials, and even the purchase of new books, software, and computers.

Your donations provide a vital role in supporting the library and there’s no better time to clear out those stacks, help your community, and make room for what this year’s reading has in store for you.
