There are five new businesses opening within just a few blocks of one another and all on Main Street in Buda. Don’t think that this has ever happened before. In the downtown area, Hays Insurance Group has relocated to 316-B North Main and next door will be the new Summer Moon Coffee Shop. Down the street in the building that once housed the Yellow Sweater, there is a new Allstate Insurance office. Gabriel “Gabe” Volinsky is the owner of the agency at 216 North Main. Across the railroad track on the left side a new boutique will be opening and next to Stagecoach Park, Willie’s Joint, the new BBQ place, has its sign up and will open soon. Good luck to all the new places and please do stop by and welcome them to town.

The Buda Bulldogs are coming to town. The first bunch will be here on Friday night at the Onion Creek Senior Center where the class of 1964 of old Buda High School will celebrate their 50 year reunion. The classes of 1963 and 1965 will also join in the celebration.
The next day the Bulldogs will increase in numbers as they gather again at the senior center for a reunion of all students who ever attended the old Buda schools. The doors open at 9 a.m. and lunch will be served at noon. Come on over and visit with old classmates and friends.

After the Bulldogs leave town, the Weiner dogs will show up for the annual Buda Lions Club Country Fair which features big races for the little dogs. The two-day event is April 26 and 27 at Buda City Park.
On Saturday, April 12, there will be a benefit for Alex “Hondo” Verver at the Creedmoor Community Center. BBQ plates for $10 will be served from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m.; a silent auction will start at 11 a.m. and a live auction at 1 p.m.
