Steve F. Vasquez, resident of Buda, Texas, went to the Lord on Feb. 17, 2014, at the age of 66. Steve is survived by his wife, Mary Lou; son, Ted Anthony; daughter and son-in-law, Berenice Craig and Dr. Jason Craig; and grandchildren, Alex Ehlers and Michaela Craig; brothers, Roy, Gilbert, Larry, and Leo Vasquez, and numerous nephews and nieces.
Steve was born in Dalhart in the panhandle of Texas to Ted and Grace Vasquez. He was an avid collector of sports memorabilia; he loved watching football and his favorite team was the Dallas Cowboys. He also was known for love of music from the 50’s and 60’s, classic movies, and political debates. He enjoyed a special sense of humor, and often could be found laughing and smiling. His friendly and caring personality knew no strangers. He will be dearly missed by his family, friends and neighbors.
Services in his loving memory will be: a Rosary at Harrell Funeral Home in Kyle, Texas, at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 21, 2014, and a Mass with military honors at Santa Cruz Catholic Church in Buda, Texas, on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014 at 11:30 a.m. There will be a wake following funeral services.
