Literacy Center at Kyle H-E-B
The newest H-E-B Literacy Center officially opens in Kyle this Saturday. Join the community for the ribbon cutting and story time with local author Clint Greenleaf, who will read his book, Give, Save, Spend with the Three Little Pigs. Signed copies will be available. The Literacy Center opens at 10 a.m. April 12, story time begins at 11 a.m. at the H-E-B Plus in Kyle.
Duran Memorial Run/Walk
Last April, Phillip Duran was killed by a hit and run driver while running. To honor and celebrate his life, his brother, Chad Benninghoff, organized a memorial run on the anniversary of his death. The event will also bring awareness to pedestrians, runners and bicyclists sharing the roadways. All proceeds will benefit local nonprofit military and safety awareness organizations. Each runner will be given a flag to take on the run/walk and place it at the site where a memorial now stands close to where Phillip was killed.
