Around 13,000 cyclists participated in the 30th annual MS 150 ride from Houston to Austin over the past weekend. One of the bikers on this long journey was our Justice of the Peace Scott Cary. This marked Cary’s seventh year in a row to ride for multiple sclerosis.

There were around 140 who attended the Buda High School Forever Reunion last Saturday. Hazel Rylander Rich drove down from Amarillo and there were folks from Arkansas and New Mexico.
Bobbie Hartman Miller from New Mexico was asked to draw for the quilt raffle. Janet Rylander Cauthen had previously stated that the fourth ticket drawn would be the winning one. As luck would have it, Miller drew her own ticket! She did seem a little embarrassed that it was her name, but she didn’t hesitate to say she would gladly take it back to New Mexico.

Saturday afternoon family and friends of Mitch Johnson gathered together for a party celebrating his 60th birthday. Could retirement be in the near future for this Buda man?

Now time to get ready for the big two-day event sponsored by the Buda Lions Club. The Country Fair & Weiner Dog Races take place on Saturday and Sunday, April 26 and 27 at Buda City Park. Such good family fun, so don’t miss it.

Rob Carter will be providing the music for the Country & Western Dance Thursday, April 17 at the Onion Creek Senior Center. Dance time is 6 to 9 p.m. Cost is $5 per person. Food and drinks are available.
