HCISD budget workshop Thursday
The Board will hold a special budget workshop at 5:30 p.m. April 3 in the Lehman High School Cafeteria. At that time, the Board will hear a report from the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB), which recently completed a compensation plan review for Hays CISD, comparing Hays CISD salaries with market average salaries and other factors. The report contains recommendations that will be presented for Board consideration.
Chapa 5K dedicated to Gaby Montoya
The annual Chapa 5K, which takes place this Saturday, will honor Gaby Montoya who passed away Friday from injuries sustained in a car crash. Event takes place at 9 a.m. April 5 at Chapa Middle School in Kyle. There is a registration fee to participate in the run. There will also be a Zumba class and a 1K fun run. Colt Carnival this Saturday
Carpenter Hill Elementary PTA hosts the annual Colt Carnival Saturday. There will be a rock wall, bungee trampoline and carnival games
for all ages. Wristbands to play games and activities are $20 in advance, $25 at the entrance. In addition, carnival goers can purchase BBQ, bid on a wide variety of silent auction items and enjoy live local entertainment. Takes place from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. April 5 at Carpenter Hill Elementary. St. Stephen’s summer camp registration open
Registration is now open for St. Stephen’s summer camps. There are two sessions, each one unique. For ages three years through Kindergarten: “Summer Blast” with outdoor fun, arts, crafts, cooking and more. For first-sixth grade: “Dig Into Science” a hands-on science and technology camp featuring Not So Creepy Critters exploring the natural world in and out of the science lab, and utilizing the iPad as a creative learning tool.
