Red, White and Buda
The city of Buda will host its annual Independence Day celebration. This year’s children’s parade is free. No registration required. Children line up in the parking lot across from Garcia’s Mexican Restaurant beginning at 8:30 a.m. with their decorated bikes, wagons, scooters. Parade begins at 9 a.m. down Main Street to Buda City Park. Free children’s activities from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. at the park (bounce house, water slide, magician and Cabela’s BB Gun range). Paid concessions will be available. The Buda Fireworks show will be shot off from City Park area beginning at 9:30 p.m. Come early for more free children’s activities from 5:30 - 9:30 p.m. (dry and wet inflatables). Buda Chamber and Longhorn Steakhouse will be selling hamburgers and hot dogs.
Popsicle Run
Run or walk through Plum Creek in Kyle on a chip-timed four-mile course. In addition, there will be a 3K and 1K at this family-friendly event. Participants will receive dog tags, popsicles, fruit ice and other frozen treats at the finish line. Star Spangled Celebration
Join your friends and neighbors on the front lawn of the Hays CISD Performing Arts Center (at FM 1626 and Kohler's Crossing) for the first ever 4th of July Star Spangled Celebration. Music kicks off with singer Kem Watts at 7 p.m. At 8 p.m. listen to patrotic music by the Starlight Symphony Orchestra, followed by the city of Kyle fireworks at 9:30 p.m.
Kyle Fireworks
The city of Kyle will host its 4th of July Fireworks Show Friday at the southwest corner of Kyle Parkway and Kohler’s Crossing, near the Performing Arts Center. This year, there will be no viewing from Plum Creek Golf Course and the golf course parking lot will be closed to all vehicles.The show can be seen from the parking lots around Subway, What-A-Burger, Kohl’s and the Kyle community pool. The fireworks are scheduled to begin around 9:30 p.m.
Mt. City Parade and Lawn Mower Races
Meet at Mountain City’s Old City Hall just before 10 a.m., and residents will follow the big red truck in red-white-and-blue wagons, decorated bikes, strollers, and more! There will be cookies and water for our neighbors and friends just before the great Lawn Mower Race. You must be a resident of Mountain City to participate in the Lawn Mower Races The first place winner will receive of a gift card to one of our local hardware stores.
Summerfest in San Marcos
The City of San Marcos is hosting their community independence celebration at a new location this year on July 4, 5-11 p.m. This free event will feature live entertainment, food booths, children’s activities, children’s costume competition and parade. Summerfest will be held on the grounds of San Marcos Plaza Park, same location as Sights of Sounds of Christmas. Summerfest is an alcohol free event and coolers are subject to inspection.
Wimberley 4th of July parade
The Wimberley Chamber of Commerce will host the annual July 4th Parade. Those who would like to enter a float in the parade or sponsor the parade may call (512) 847-2201 or email [email protected]. The parade begins at 10 a.m. July 4 at the intersection of RR 12 and FM 2325, travels through Wimberley on RR 12 then Old Kyle Rd., and ends at Oaks at Blue Hole. Roads in Wimberley will be closed at 9 a.m. to accommodate the parade. The July 4th weekend will feature rodeo, parade, concerts, Market Day, Family Fun Fest and fireworks. Dripping Springs 4th of July
Rep. Jason Isaac is hosting his third annual fireworks show to commemorate America’s independence at Dripping Springs Ranch Park. The event is presented in partnership with the Dripping Springs Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Center and the North Hays County Fire Rescue. The event will feature games, family fun, kid’s activities and an optional BBQ dinner; a portion of the proceeds from the optional dinner will benefit the North Hays County Fire Rescue. Gates open at 5 p.m. with the professional fireworks display beginning just after dark, at approximately 9:15 p.m. Parking will be available at Dripping Springs Ranch Park. Circuit of the Americas 4th of July family celebration
The Circuit of the America’s will host a free family celebration on July 4, 4-11 p.m. There will be family fun activities from 4-8 p.m.. The Austin Symphony will perform beginning at 8:30 p.m. Fireworks will begin approximately 9:30 p.m. Picnic baskets and coolers will be allowed and free parking while available.
Austin Fireworks Canceled
The annual Austin Symphony Orchestra celebration at Auditorium Shores is cancelled this year. There will be no fireworks celebrations in Travis County this year due to fire concerns. An alternative celebration will be held at Circuit of the Americas.
