First Sunday at Claiborne Kyle Log House
The Claiborne Kyle Log House will be open to the public from 2-5 p.m July 6. The house wilbe open for tours and the grounds available for photos, as well as drinks and cookies. It’s a perfect time to take that family photo you’ve been meaning to take...and the Kyle Log House is a perfect backdrop. Claiborne Kyle Log House is in Kyle on Old Stagecoach Road.
Concerts for a Cause
This Saturday, Fun In Kyle, Texas will shine the spotlight on PAWS animal shelter. Live music and great food set the stage each month for these fundraising events, held the first Saturday of every month. PAWS will have a furry friend or two there. Face painting will be available for the kids. The event is BYOB; patrons pay for dinner but there is no cover charge. The event runs from 5:30 p.m.-8 p.m. July 5 at Milt’s BBQ in Kyle. All donations are tax deductible and 100 percent of the proceeds go to the designated charity.
Kyle Garden Festival
The Kyle, TX Garden Festival is all about plants and what to do with them: grow flowers, trees, vegetables, fruits, for landscaping, farming, create organic produce, sell at farmers markets or maybe just collect seeds. This festival will be about self sustainable living and what you can do with your own two hands. There will be free prizes and family friendly fun with food, drinks, games and more. Garden Festival and Flea Market events are both on July 5 and 6 at the Kyle, Texas Flea Market.
Build a Bug House
Home Depot will be hosting a free hands-on workshops; designed for children ages 5 - 12 at 9 a.m. on Saturday. All kids get to keep their craft, receive a certificate of achievement, a Workshop Apron, and a commemorative pin while supplies last. Children must be present at the store to participate in the workshop and receive the kit, apron and pin.Kids Workshop activities are scheduled on a first come/first served basis.
