Marion Kay Mayfield (1950-20140

Marion Kay Mayfield, 64, of Wimberley, Texas, died Saturday, February 22, 2014, at Austin Hospice Christopher House after a long battle with cancer.


She was born in Houston, at St. Joseph Hospital. She had a Master’s Degree in Physical Education and Health from Southwest Texas State and taught PE before she became owner and operator of “Have Sheers Will Travel” mobile dog grooming business. Kay was a volunteer deluxe with: Wimberley Volunteer Fire Department, CERT, Hays County Sheriff’s Citizens Academy, Habitat for Humanity and a straw bale home building group which helped her build her own home as well as many others.



Kay was preceded in death by her parents, Aubrey William Mayfield and Nannette Lois Ullrich Mayfield. She is survived by brother, Donald W. Mayfield of Austin, Aunt Jean Moore of Claremont, CA, and many cousins.


A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2014, at 11:30 a.m., at the Chapel In The Hills, 1460l Ranch Road 12, Wimberley, Texas, followed with a pot-luck lunch. Memorial donations may be made to Austin Hospice, 4107 Spicewood Springs Road, Austin, Texas 78759.
