Valentina’s BBQ, an Austin-based food truck, will leave the city to make Buda its new home in a 6,000 square-foot brick and mortar restaurant.
In light of this venture, the Buda City Council approved a $228,000 budget amendment incentive to the incoming business, which will bring tax revenue, jobs and business to downtown Buda. The one-time fund will be provided by the Buda Economic Development Corporation (Buda EDC).
The money is proposed to be used for equipment purchase expenses related to the opening and operation of the restaurant, said Traci Anderson, the Buda EDC executive director.
“At the next meetings they will actually have the agreements for the incentives to be officially approved,” Anderson told the Hays Free Press/News-Dispatch.
