Against new highway

Recently Hays County has been advocating the use of rainwater collection for area residents. A practice utilitzed for centuries and as a Certified Organic farmer I also rely on rainwater collection. My 25th year of not pumping any aquifer water has brought me statewide recognition for water conservation. As a leader in low water utilization I have recently found out no standards exist for vehicle emissions in rainwater especially for home and vegetable use. Hays County and State of Texas have announed that a 5 lane highway for Kyle’s truck route in a very close proximity will now pollute my source of water and soil. It was bad enough PEC forced me to take down a rainwater collection area now the threat of vehicle emissions will endanger all those who save rainwater in the area.
