Swag Your Tails pet fashion show
Join PAWS at Three Dudes Winery in Martindale from 2-5 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 16 for a pet fashion show benefitting the PAWS Shelter and Humane Society. Bring your dogs for a fun costumed event. There will be a photobooth, PAWS adoptions, face-painting and live music from Riversyde. Donations and all ages welcome. Free admission!
Millberg Farms seed swap
Millberg Farms is inviting the public to a seed swap, along with the Texas Young Farmer’s Coalition, at 737 Opal Lane, Kyle, TX on Feb. 15 from 4 p.m. to dark.
What to bring: Saved heirloom vegetable, herbs and tree seed - paper envelopes with the names of the seeds inside and date collected.
Plants welcome, especially multiplying onions and iris bulbs.There will be a potluck dinner after with a bonfire.
Millberg Farms is celebrating it’s 25th year of being certified organic and will be offering a variety of workshops this year including proper tree pruning, vegetable plant sale, vegetable growing for the kids and more.
Dunbar Community Garden Orchard Work Day
Help plant San Marcos’ “mini food forest” over the weekend of February 15-16. Each day will start with breakfast and an educational talk and breakdown of the day’s work. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be provided on Saturday. Breakfast and lunch will be provided on Sunday. For food purposes, please RSVP.
99% of the eventual produce for this orchard will be donated to the Hays County Food Bank. A small percentage will be used for educational purposes. Your help with this orchard project truly will be a gift that keeps on giving!
The garden is located near the intersection of MLK and Mitchell St. in San Marcos, behind the apartment building at 205 Mitchell.
Texas Wild Rice Festival Fundraiser
On Saturday, Feb. 15 Texas Wild Rice Festival will be having a family friendly benefit show at Tantra Coffeehouse in San Marcos from 7-11 p.m. This is a free event, with donations welcomed. There will be Texas Wild Rice merchandise available, an art raffle, s’mores, button making, music from Grace Park, Violinda, Michael Garfield, the Hairfarmers, a performance from ARTheism, and lots of fun! All donations from this event will directly benefit and support the creation of the Texas Wild Rice Festival.
