Sergio De La Pava book reading and signing
In 2008, Sergio De La Pava self-published his debut novel A Naked Singularity, “one of the best—and most original—novels of the decade.” De La Pava will read and sign books at 3:30 p.m. Jan. 30 at the Wittliff Collection at Texas State University’s Alkek Library and at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 31 at the Katherine Anne Porter House in Kyle. Both events are free and open to the public.
Hays burn ban back on
Hays County Fire Marshall Mark Chambers told county commissioners that high winds and low humidity, along with dry grass, create perfect conditions for major brush fires. Commissioners reinstated a county-wide burn ban in unincorporated areas until further notice.
