John Everett Fitch, Jr. passed away on Jan. 9, 2014, with his family by his side. He was born Oct. 13, 1943, in Harrisonville, MO. He grew up in Kansas City, KS. He graduated high school in 1961 and joined the U.S. Navy.
When his tour of duty was over, he married Carol Ann Isaacs in 1964. In 1965 he went to work at Western Electric in Kansas City. He transferred to Austin, Texas, in 1974 and retired from Lucent Tech in 2002. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Lisa, his mom and dad, and grandparents. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Carol; a daughter, Carrie; two sons, John III and Richard; and a sister, Brenda Lynch; as well as eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held on Feb. 22, 2014, at his longtime home in Buda, TX.
