June Jacoby Martinez passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home in Buda, Texas on Jan. 29, 2014, with her youngest daughter, Alison, at her side.
June was raised the daughter of Arthur C. Jacoby and Mildred L. Stewart, in Medford Lakes, New Jersey. She joins in Heaven her parents, deceased brother and sister, Arthur “Jake” Jacoby, and Carol Lee Jacoby.
She had worked in Austin for over 30 years at a local non-profit, Austin Child Guidance Center, a place where she met many close friends and felt passion for their mission. She was also an active member at her church, St. Elizabeth’s Episcopal Church, in Buda, Texas for many years, where she met very special people whom she enjoyed her retirement.
June’s family would like to especially thank her nurses at Hospice Austin, and Dr. Uyeki and Dr. Tierney of Texas Oncology for taking great care of their mother.
June is survived by her two daughters, Alison Martinez, of Austin, Texas and Lisa Galvan, her son-in-law, Julio Galvan, and two grandsons, Jake Coby and Luke Austin, of Coronado, California.
She will be greatly missed, forever remembered, and always loved.
A memorial service is scheduled for 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014 at St. Elizabeth Episcopal Church, 725 Ranch Road 967, Buda, TX 78610. There will be a lunch prepared following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations in June’s honor may be made to St. Elizabeth Episcopal Church of Buda, or the Austin Child Guidance Center, 810 W.45th St., Austin, TX 78751
