Starlight Symphony Orchestra Young Artists Concert

The Starlight Symphony Orchestra will feature two winners from their Young Artists Competition held in the Fall of 2013.  The concerts will be: Feb. 8, 2014, at 7 p.m. in the Lone Star Theatre, 100 Carney Lane, Wimberley, TX; and Feb. 9, 2014, at 4 p.m. in the Hays Performing Arts Center, 979 Kohler’s Crossing, Kyle, TX. These two winners represent the finest of young musicians in Central Texas and are sure to provide amagical evening for concert-goers.

In addition to the outstanding youth solos, the orchestra will perform La Gazza Ladra Overture by Gioachino Rossini and Capriccio Italien by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky.  La Gazza Ladra, or the Thieving Magpie, is a melodramatic opera.

Shown here is two-time SSO contest winner 17-year-old Gyu-Hee Min from Lake Travis High School.  He will perform Dmitry Kabalevsky Cello Concerto, first movement.

This concert and all SSO concerts are open to the public and free; however donations are appreciated to meet the expenses associated with their performances.
