The Texas Comptroller’s office named Hays County Emergency Services District #5, Kyle Fire Department, as one of the only two Emergency Service Districts in Texas to achieve their new Platinum award in the Texas Comptroller Leadership Circle for financial transparency for 2014. This is the newest and highest level of transparency an ESD can achieve from the state office. The award recognizes local governments across Texas that meet a high level of online financial transparency by providing residents with a clear and consistent picture of spending in a user-friendly format.
“Financial transparency was a goal of the ESD board, and to reach the Platinum level the first year was a major accomplishment for the department,” Fire Chief Kyle Taylor said. “This award is a testament to the priority and focus of fiscal responsibility demonstrated by the board members of Hays County Emergency Services District #5.”
