According to your feature story recently, two of the restaurants/bar owners want to have the noise ordinance changed to allow the neighborhood to suffer.
I have lived two short blocks from Historic Old Town Buda since 1970. The noise level has become unbearable as the amplified music moved outdoors.
A few weeks ago on a Thursday night, Karaoke was LOUD – 90 decibels by a neighbor’s reading. This is unacceptable! The later it got, the louder the noise. I called the police who issued a warning. The business owners complaining have no respect for the neighborhood.
In recent years, members of the community have responded to surveys. They unanimously agreed they want Buda to retain its “ old town charm.” We don’t need an Austin 6th Street. Already there are five restaurant /bars in downtown Buda’s Historic District.
Please show some respect for the neighborhood by keeping your loud, amplified music inside or at a decent decibel level.
