Wow ... what a winter we are having here in Texas. People keep saying they are ready for warmer days, hope all those folks will remember the cold ones and not complain about our hot July and August heat.
Congratulations to the Marbridge Longhorn “A” team for receiving a silver medal in the Regional Special Olympics Basketball tournament held at Texas State last week.
Many activities going on at the Buda Library during spring break so do check out their website at www.FriendsoftheBudaLibrary.org.
The Buda Chamber of Commerce will meet Wednesday, March 12, for their monthly lunch at Onion Creek Senior Center, 420 Barton’s Crossing in Buda. Buda Mayor Todd Ruge will be the guest speaker.
The Book Club will meet Thursday, March 13, at 6 p.m., for a lively discussion on this month’s book, “Leisureville – Adventures in America’s Retirement Utopia” by Andrew D. Blechman.
Mark your calendar for Thursday, March 27 and plan to attend the annual Auction held at Onion Creek Senior Citizens Center in Buda. Not only will there be a “live auction” starting at 10 a.m. but also a silent auction. Auctioneer will again be Leroy Opiela and there will be a fajita lunch available at noon. Do come out for a fun time and also to support the area senior citizens.
Start doing your spring-cleaning and find all that unwanted stuff so that you can rent space for the Indoor/Outdoor Garage Sale on Saturday, April 5 at Onion Creek Senior Center in Buda. For information contact the center at (512) 295-3413 or visit www.onioncreekseniorcitizens.org.
Birthday wishes go out to Herb Brown, Horace Fletcher and Dee Haberer Sibert on March 6; Diane Cooper and Julie Gibbs on March 9; Mike Dees on March 10; Scott Bailey on March 11 and Pam Stevens on March 12.
Remember to spring forward one hour on Sunday, March 9 for the beginning of Daylight Savings Time. Perhaps that will be the beginning of our spring weather we are all wanting.
To all the folks off for spring break next week….have a fun and safe time.
