For the first time in Lehman athletic history, a state championship banner will grace the rafters of Lobo Gym. On March 15, junior powerlifter Natalie Guerra (center) claimed the 2014 state title in her weight class at the Texas Women’s High School Powerlifting Association (TWHSPA) state meet in Corpus Christi. Guerra finished by lifting a combined 1045 pounds; 135 pounds more than her nearest competitor.
Alongside Guerra are six other Lady Lobos who competed at the state meet. They include (front row, left to right) Mery Vargas, Guerra, Christina Ramirez, Samantha Rodriguez; (second row, left to right) Heidi Munoz, Anamarie Fajardo, Kali Palomarez and (back row) head coach Trey Rose.
