PEC annual meeting and elections
Pedernales Electric Cooperative (PEC) will hold its annual meeting and elections at 8 a.m. June 21 at the Leander ISD South Performing Arts Center, located on the Cedar Park High School Campus.. Members will vote on whether to keep the current at-large voting system or change to a single-member district voting model. They will also vote in the director election. Co-op members will select from the following candidates, listed here in ballot order: District 2: Emily Pataki, Cedar Park; William D. (Bill) Boggs, Leander. District 3: Judy Lawler Pokorny, Cedar Park; Kathryn Scanlon, Austin; Arnold LeVine, Austin; Don Zimmerman, Austin.
2014 Summer Solstice
Saturday, June 21 is the 2014 summer solstice, the longest day of the year and the first official day of the summer. Celebrate the beginning of the season with a bonfire, a day of fishing at Lake Kyle, or a cookout under the sun.
