Kenneth John Christie Jr., 66 of Kyle, TX passed away in Kyle, Monday, Feb. 17, 2014. He was born April 18, 1947 to Kenneth and Amelia Christie, Jr. in New Brunswick, NJ.
Ken was a Rutgers graduate and Vietnam veteran proudly serving in the Army earning a Bronze Star for his outstanding service. Before retiring from his IT position, Ken worked for Union Carbide for more than 25 years. He was an avid sports fan and Rutgers fan, enjoying basketball, football and baseball. He loved anything Rutgers. Ken also enjoyed the Cleveland Indians, the Mets and was a New Jersey Devils fan and most recently became a Houston Texan fan.
Ken was Adjutant to VFW Post 12058 Kyle/Buda, former Vice President of the Kyle Citizen Police Alumni. He was appointed to the Long Term Planning Committee of Kyle in December.
Ken enjoyed many things, but most of all his family. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 17 years, Michele Christie, of Kyle, TX, daughter Rebecca Rounds and son-in- law David Rounds of San Marcos, TX, daughter Lauren Christie and son-in-law Curt Gandolfo of Raritan, NJ, grandsons, Austin, Travis and Logan Rounds of San Marcos, TX and Baby Curtis of Raritan, NJ, stister Heather DeLalla and brother-in-law Dana DeLalla of Moorpark, CA and brother, William Christie, of PA., and nieces and nephews.
The family received friends Thursday, Feb. 20, 2014, at Harrell Funeral Home, Kyle, with a VFW service. Funeral Services were held at the Crabiel Home for Funerals in Milltown, NJ. Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2014, followed with burial at Franklin Memorial Park.
