Earth Day at Carpenter Hill
Earth Day is officially Tuesday, April 22. Carpenter Hill Elementary, a Green Ribbon School, will celebrate Earth Week April 28-May 2, due to STAAR testing.
That week, the Environmental Committee will collect old, worn-out tennis shoes, of ANY BRAND, for Nike Reuse-A-Shoe. Nike recycles these shoes into outdoor play surfaces and other recycled products.
Other Earth Week activities include:
- Environmental Committee Members planting three new trees on campus and providing tree watering bags for future tree planting at CHES
- Creating a wildflower area with the fourth graders
-Donating two wildflower books and a tree book to the CHES Library
-Donating a bench to place in front of the school

Both meetings take place at Lehman High School beginning at 5:30 p.m.
