Lady Lobos soccer pummels Lockhart 5-1

The Lady Lobos soccer team took an early command and tamed the Lady Lions on parents’ night at Lobo Field. The Lady Lobos took command of the midfield and did not relinquish control for the rest of the game.


When it was all said and done, the final score was Lehman Lady Lobos 5, Lockhart Lady Lions 1.



From the opening buzzer, the Lady Lobos started taking shots on the Lion’s goal. The Lady Lobos were finally able to score a goal at the feet of senior Max Soto eight minutes into the half. 


The Lady Lobos would score again, this time by Neftali Mercado off a corner kick with 22:07 left in the first half.

The next goal, was scored by senior Shayla Seeger-Avona after she was able to outrun the Lion goalkeeper who had come out well past the penalty box to try to fend off the Lobo attack. Seeger was able to run the ball in and score with a light tap to put the ball in the back of the net.


Lexi Sanchez would be the next person to score for Lehman. She was able to sidestep the Lion goalkeeper and put the ball in. 


At the half, Lehman led 4-0.


Sanchez scored once again in the second half of play when there were 12 minutes left in the game. Her score, brought the goal total to 5-0 Lehman.


A few minutes later Lockhart, scored their single goal of the game.


Lehman’s Soto would earn the lone yellow card of the game after she tried to scissor block a Lockhart player.


The final score of the game was Lehman Lady Lobos 5, Lockhart Lady Lions 1. The Lady Lobos will advance to the playoffs for the fourth year in a row.
