Submitted Report

After a national search, Pedernales Electric Cooperative has chosen Tracy Golden to be the organization’s next Chief Financial Officer. Golden began at PEC on March 3.

Golden comes to PEC after serving as Vice President of Accounting, Finance, and Member Services at Southwest Arkansas Electric Cooperative.

Before that post, he was a partner at Axley & Rode, CPAs, a firm that provides various financial services to clients in a multitude of industries.

Golden helped expand the firm’s client base to include several electric cooperatives.

He began his career working for a large investor-owned electric utility.

“PEC has a stellar reputation for progressive policies, transparency and service reliability,” Golden said. “I’m looking forward to helping the Co-op continue its leadership role among cooperatives and electric utilities.”

“Tracy’s experience and leadership will be an ideal fit at the Co-op,” said PEC Chief Executive Officer John D. Hewa. “Tracy brings us a deep knowledge of utility finance with a special understanding of the unique needs of electric cooperatives. He is a CPA, as well as a Certified Fraud Examiner and a Certified Cooperative Financial Professional. All of this insight can only benefit PEC as we move into the future.”
