Dolores (Dee) Marie Gorsche Schultz Fazzio (1941-2014)

Dolores (Dee) Marie Gorsche Schultz Fazzio passed away on May 27, 2014. She was born Dec. 5, 1941 in Vulcan, Alberta, Canada.  Raised on a farm in Alberta, she moved to California in 1951 and lived in Redwood City, CA.

She married Robert Schultz in 1961.  They welcomed their first son Robert Schultz, Jr., in 1963 and bought their first home in Santa Clara, CA.  In 1966, their second son Douglas J. Schultz was born. Bob and Dee were part of the Lockheed family and transferred to Austin in 1984.  They set up home in Manchaca, TX, where she lived for many years.

In 2000, Dee moved to Whitney, TX with her second husband, Joe Fazzio, where she resided until her death.

Dee loved gardening, traveling, playing games, and sleeping in.  You would usually see her in her pajamas or her bikini doing yard work.  She loved parties, dancing, bowling, bunko, riding horses and anything social. Dee kept a positive attitude and ever-ready smile, especially as she fought a valiant battle against cancer.  She will be missed.

Dee was an active member of Whitney’s Open Range Cowboy Church and served in the Women’s Ministry.  Her passion for travel kept her busy.  She belonged to two RV Clubs: The Lone-Star Chapter of The Family Motor Coach Association and Kountry Campers. Dee was also a member of the Lake Whitney Community Garden Club.

She is survived by husband Joe Fazzio of Whitney; sons, Bob Schultz, Jr., and wife Renee of Manchaca; Doug Schultz and wife Patty of Mountain View, California; sister, Lorena Gorsche of Santa Clara, California; grandchildren, Bob Schultz III, Alicia Schultz, Shauna Schultz, Wesley Schultz and Jayson Schultz; great-grandchildren, Islyn Schultz and Lillian Schultz; step-daughters Marian Jo Berry and Monica Maxine Martin; her beloved cat, Jo-de; and countless friends and fellow RVers.

A memorial service will take place at 10 a.m., Saturday, June 7, at Open Range Cowboy Church, 582 FM 1713, Whitney, TX  76692. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to ORCC Youth Ministries, P O Box 1603, Whitney, TX  76692
