A 64-year-old Kyle man was buried Oct. 17 after a fatal accident on FM 967 in Buda Oct. 11. Police say Bruce Lee Ethridge lost control of his Honda Civic on a curve in the 1700 block of FM 967 during a heavy downpour. Ethridge’s car spun out of control and onto the eastbound lane when he struck a Toyota Tundra on the westbound lane, according to police. Authorities shut down FM 967 for about two hours on Oct. 15 to reconstruct the accident and continue the investigation. Ethridge’s wife, a passenger in the car, had non-life threatening injuries, and the driver of the second vehicle was uninjured, police said.
