Rebel Christmas Fundraiser
The Rebel softball and baseball programs from Hays High School will be having its 3rd annual Christmas fundraiser on Saturday, Dec. 13 from 3:30-7:00 p.m. in the Hays High School cafeteria. There will be vendors, a silent auction, a live auction, BBQ plates for sale and a visit from Santa Claus! There will also be featured performances by area school choirs such as Hays High, Dahlstrom and Barton choirs. They will also be accepting unwrapped gifts for Hays County Brown Santa.
Buda Trail of Lights
The city of Buda will host its annual trail of lights in Historic Stagecoach Park on Dec. 12-13 and Dec. 18-21 from 6-10 p.m. Enjoy live entertainment, toasty campfire, hot beverages and concessions for purchase. Free admission but non-perishable food donations will be accepted for the Hays County Food Bank. Free parking and shuttle from Cabela’s parking lot. For more information call 512-295-7170.
Art Squared Art Market
On Dec. 13, head to San Marcos from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. to browse booths where local artists will have their work for sale. Enjoy live music and performance art and find great locally made gifts for the holidays.
Luminations at Wildflower Center
On Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 13 and 14 from 6-9 p.m. celebrate the holidays at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center. Thousands of luminaries and twinkling lights turn the center into a holiday wonderland during Luminations, an Austin holiday tradition. Admission is free (with two canned food items for the Capital Area Food Bank).
Santa’s Ranch Christmas Light Park
Celebrate the holidays with homemade hot cocoa, kettle corn, and a leisurely drive through Santa’s Ranch with more than one million dazzling lights, displays and holiday settings. Santa’s Ranch is located on IH-35, one mile south of San Marcos between Posey Rd. and York Creek Rd. Runs nightly through Jan. 3. Look for a $2 off coupon in tthe Hays Free Press.
Geronimo VFW Sunday country dance
Austin’s Weldon Henson will be performing everyone’s favorite country dance music this Sunday. An $8 donation benefits Auxiliary programs. Hall is smoke free and open to all. Reasonable drink prices and setups available. Dance takes place from 3-6:30 p.m. (VFW kitchen opens at 2 p.m.) Dec. 14 at Geronimo VFW, 6808 N Hwy 123, Geronimo.
Story time with Santa
Join the Kyle Public Library for a special story time with a special guest, Santa Claus! The event will be held during regular story time on Wednesday, Dec. 17 at 10:30 a.m. Santa will read a special Christmas story and pose for pictures in front of the library’s Christmas tree following Story Time.
