Hays County sheriff's deputies today arrested Hays Free Press Publisher Cyndy Slovak-Barton on charges of "abuse of staff." The arrest took place at The Texas Pie Company on Center Street in Kyle.
She is being held at the Hays County Government Center until bail can be raised. The proceeds of the donated funds will benefit the Hays County Brown Santa program, which provides much needed gifts and food for needy families around the county.
