Intangibles: Lehman’s playoff aspirations have ended, but they still have the chance to make an impact on the 14-6A race. A win over Austin could further muddle the fight for the fourth playoff spot. Lehman’s embattled defense will be tested by a high-efficiency Austin offense. The Maroons have tallied 30 or more points in five games; they’ve gained an average of 417 yards of offense in their four wins. Conversely, the Lobo defense has conceded 40 or more points in six of their eight games. Austin High QB Kahlbacher has thrown for 1,728 yards and 17 scores. He’s complimented with multiple receiving options, led by WR Traudt (517 yards) and RB Anchando (329 yards). RB Mendoza has pitched in with 449 yards. QB Schilhab leads the Lobo offense, now needing 98 more yards to become the school’s first player to rush and pass for 1,000 yards. The Lobos diversified their offense against Anderson; TE Sayles gained 91 yards receiving, with WR Herrera adding 74. RB Castillo helped on the ground with 58 yards last week. Lehman goes up against an Austin defense that is two week removed from giving up 62 points to Lake Travis.
