Ralph Edward Jensen, 74 of Kyle, Texas passed away peacefully with family at his side at MD Anderson Hospital after a five-year courageous battle with Multiple Myeloma cancer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mabel and Aksel Jensen and brother, Fred. His wife, Margaret, daughter Lisa, son Scott and his wife Cyndie and Grandson Aksel Jensen survive Ralph.
Ralph graduated from Mount Herman School in Massachusetts attended Colby College and received a Bachelor’s degree in finance in Florida. He served three years with the Army Security Agency in West Germany.
Ralph began his banking career in 1963 at Newtown Savings Bank in Connecticut. Next he went on to serve as Executive Vice President of United Federal Saving & Loan Association in Fort Lauderdale, Florida for seven and ½ years. His last banking position was President of Merchants Savings Bank, which later became Numerica Savings Bank in Manchester, NH. He was well respected in the communities where he worked and was named Citizen of the Year in 1987 by the Manchester Chamber of Commerce. He served as Chairman of the Elliot Hospital Board of Directors and also The Derryfield School, both in Manchester, NH as well as guiding many other organizations. Ralph was well respected, unpretentious and a self-confidant man with great compassion for others.
Ralph enjoyed salt-water fishing, showing his American Saddlebred horses and golf. He loved his family and will be dearly missed.

A family service will be held in Newtown, CT on October 10th at the Congregational Church. His remains will be taken to the ocean’s shore in Maine.
