Pedernales Electric Cooperative (PEC) took to Twitter Saturday to warn of a phone scam attempting to collect payments from it's members.
According to a post on PEC’s Twitter page, the scam, run by those posing as PEC, used the phone number 512-394-9136. Only two known reports have surfaced, with the Kyle area the only known location.
PEC asks members to forgo giving information should the number call them.
Any members that receive a call from that number can contact PEC Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. at 1-888-554-4732.
