Despite dropping its first district game of the season in a 6-3 loss to state-ranked Bowie March 30, the Hays High softball team responded with a 4-2 April 1 win over the Akins Eagles. Hays High’s Katie Noble went the distance and struck out eight batters across seven innings. Meanwhile, Hays tallied seven total hits in the game and Julissa Vasquez finished with two RBIs.
