Free diabetes classes
The Hays County Diabetes Coalition is offering a Do Well, Be Well with Diabetes (DWBW) program. DWBW consists of a series of nine (9) topics presented in five (5) class sessions to help people with type 2 diabetes do well and live well with the disease. Topics include understanding diabetes, managing your blood sugar, nutrition, exercise, medicines, and preventing complications. The program was developed by the Texas A&M Agrilife Extension Service health professionals to help people with type 2 diabetes successfully manage their disease. Family members are also encouraged to participate in the classes, which take place on Tuesdays from 6-8 p.m. Nov. 18 and 25 and Dec. 2, 9 and 16 in San Marcos. A resource binder with handouts and other educational resources will be provided to each participant.
