A man who police say approached three people outside a San Marcos restaurant and robbed them at gunpoint is on the run, according to officials.
San Marcos police say the robbery took place in the Pluckers’ parking lot at 105 N. IH-35 just after 11 p.m. Thursday.
The three victims in the case were standing in the restaurant’s parking lot talking when a man, whom the victims say was brandishing a handgun, approached them and took an undisclosed amount of cash, according to a San Marcos Police Department statement.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, late 20s to early 30s, a light to medium complexion with a buzz cut haircut. The victims told police the suspect had a stocky build, standing at about 5’7” and weighing approximately 200 pounds. The suspect was wearing a hoodie with black and gray horizontal stripes and blue jeans, according to the victims’ description of the man.
Surveillance video from a nearby business shows the suspect arriving at the parking lot in a minivan that was missing both driver’s side hubcaps. The video also shows the suspect entering the van on the passenger side of the vehicle, indicating to police the possibility of another person driving the vehicle.
