Lonnie Gene Roberts, 85, of Manchaca, passed away Oct. 4, 2014 in Austin, TX. He was born July 18, 1929 in Faribault, Minnesota. Lonnie married Myrtle Witt on April 6, 1953 in Morristown, Minnesota.
Lonnie served five years in the Navy and 21 years in the Air Force. Upon retirement from the Military he worked at the VA Data Processing Center. He is a member of VFW Post 3377 Manchaca and the American Legion Post 83.
He is survived by his wife Myrtle; son Bruce Roberts and wife Ronda; grandchildren Nathan Gauger and wife Christine Lisa Gauger, Sarah and Chad Johnson; and great-grandchild Nicholas Gauger.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Interim Homecare and Hospice for their loving care this past year.
A visitation was held on Monday, Oct. 6, 2014 at Harrell Funeral home in Austin and graveside service was held on Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2014 at Live Oak Cemetery in Manchaca.
