Geronimo VFW Sunday country dance

LGBT Pride Event


San Marcos will host its first LGBT Pride event on Sept. 5-7. On Sept. 5,  Fullmoon Salon will hold a Rainbow Night drag show.  Sept. 6 will feature a parade at the Hays County Courthouse grounds at 10 a.m. Booth vendors will also be present. Another show will be hosted the night of Sept. 6 at the VFW post off Hunter Road. The weekend celebration will conclude Sept. 7 with a gathering at Rio Vista Park.


 


First Sunday at Claiborne Kyle Log House


The Claiborne Kyle Log House will be open to the public from 2-5 p.m on Sept. 7. The house will be open for tours and the grounds open for photos, as well as drinks and cookies.


 


Hays County Food Bank’s 30th Anniversary Bash 


Sept. 13 (4-8 p.m.) is the date for the Hays County Food Bank’s 30th Anniversary Bash at Central Texas Speedway. Bands playing include Hot Texas Swing Band, Bruce Fallgren and Blue Ruin Trio. This is a way to raise money for the Hays County Food Bank while celebrating 30 years in the area.There will be a dunking booth (with Kyle Mayor Todd Webster volunteering to be dunked), silent auction of donated items, dinner provided by Bailey’s Burgers and more. Tickets start at $20 without dinner or $25 with dinner. All proceeds go directly to the Food Bank.
