Kyle Garden Club
The Kyle Garden Club will meet on Friday, Sept. 5th, 2014, at The Historic Kyle City Hall at noon. There will be a salad pot luck luncheon and the program will be a video entitled “Plan the Garden of Your Dreams.”
Poetry reading at KAP Center
Renowned poet Brian Turner will be reading at the Katherine Anne Porter Literary Center on Friday, Sept. 12 at 7:30 p.m. Turner is the author of two poetry collections, “Phantom Noise” and “Here, Bullet,” which won the 2005 Beatrice Hawley Award, the 2006 Pen Center USA Award, and the 2007 Poets Prize. His memoir is “My Life as a Foreign Country.” Turner served in the US Army for seven years, including one year as an infantry team leader in Iraq.
