About 75 firefighters from across Texas braved the heat and blazing sun to compete in the Firefighter Challenge at Fire Fest over the weekend. The event is one of the main fundraising efforts for Emergency Service District # 8 and Buda Fire Department. Patrons enjoyed free music on Friday night. On Saturday, the event featured the challenge, a kids zone, vendors, a washer tournament and the Main Street Music Meltdown with headliner Wade Bowen.
