Football season finally got underway Friday night as the Lehman Lobos hosted the Bastrop Bears at Shelton Stadium. Even with the players fired up, Lehman fell short in the end, losing to Bastrop 48-21.
Tempers flared early as punches were thrown and a player from both teams was ejected. Lehman’s Jameson Castillo found the end zone twice for the Lobos, while Brett Wagner caught a pass from Jeremy Schilhab late in the fourth quarter to give the Lobos their final points of the game. Wagner said after the game that the Lobos defense struggled making tackles that led to several Bastrop scores.
