My apologies if you tried to find this column in last week’s paper. We quickly planned an “emergency” family trip during my dad’s stay in rehab in deep East Texas. (My dad, 93, is home now.) And, just when I reached the time I had set aside for putting together a column, my mom’s elderly dog died.
A beautiful memory from that trip got put together on Sunday morning. My sister and I surprised my mom (86) by showing up in her Sunday school class. With all she had going on, Mama put in her normal many hours of preparation to teach, with calm assurance and deep faith that God is in control.
I shared a photo on Facebook and a friend noticed her well-worn Bible.
