Two men accused of holding a woman at gunpoint during an attempted robbery in San Marcos last week remain on the run, according to police.
The victim apparently sustained a gunshot injury as she attempted to fight off her would-be robbers, according to police.
Officials said a female victim reported being held up at gunpoint by two men while she and a friend were walking at an apartment complex in the 1100 block of River Ridge Parkway in San Marcos.
The woman told police two males approached them, and one suspect demanded money while displaying a firearm just before 1 a.m. on Nov. 26.
When one suspect pointed the firearm at the victim’s head, the woman grabbed the gun in an effort to move it away from her, according to police. That’s when the weapon went off and caused an injury to the female’s hand.
Both suspects then are reported to have fled on foot toward the rear of the apartment complex.
The victim was treated and released at Central Texas Medical Center.
Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating the suspects. Anyone with information on the case or the suspects’ whereabouts is asked to call the San Marcos Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division at 512-753-2300.
